Hormone therapy can be very helpful for the right patient, but the decision should be individualized. Your age, menstrual history, symptoms, medical history, family history, risk factors, uterus status, medications, goals, and preferences all matter.
At Focused Health & Wellness, we take time to talk through your symptoms and your options. For some women, that may include hormone therapy. For others, the plan may include non-hormonal options, nutrition support, strength and bone health strategies, sleep support, medication review, lab evaluation, or treatment of another condition that is contributing to symptoms.
The goal is not to chase a number on a lab report. The goal is to help you understand what is happening in your body and build a safe, thoughtful plan that helps you feel and function better.

We review your symptoms, cycle changes, medical history, family history, medications, prior treatments, goals, and concerns. This visit is designed to give enough time for the story — because the story matters.
Hormone therapy discussion when appropriate
When hormone therapy is appropriate, we discuss potential benefits, risks, forms of treatment, dosing considerations, monitoring, and what to expect. This may include estrogen, progesterone, local vaginal hormone therapy, or other options depending on your needs and medical history.
Non-hormonal options when needed
Hormone therapy is not the only option. Some women are not candidates for hormone therapy, prefer not to use hormones, or need additional support. We can discuss non-hormonal medications, sleep strategies, nutrition, movement, stress support, and other symptom-specific treatments.


Lab evaluation when it helps
Perimenopause is often diagnosed based on symptoms and menstrual history, not a single hormone lab. However, labs may be useful when symptoms overlap with thyroid disease, anemia, nutrient deficiencies, diabetes risk, inflammation, or other medical concerns. Testing is individualized based on your story.

Your first step is a focused consultation with Dr. Epple. During this visit, we review your symptoms, menstrual history, medical history, family history, medications, risk factors, goals, and prior treatments.
From there, we discuss your options. Depending on your needs, your plan may include hormone therapy, non-hormonal symptom treatment, lab evaluation, nutrition support, sleep support, bone and muscle health strategies, or broader primary care follow-up.
Because menopause care often touches several areas of health, ongoing care may be best supported through membership. Non-members may still schedule a consultation and receive focused per-visit care.

Sexual Health Is Part of Health
You are allowed to talk about all of it
Changes in libido, arousal, vaginal dryness, pain with intercourse, bladder symptoms, recurrent urinary symptoms, and changes in confidence are common in perimenopause and menopause. They are also commonly ignored, minimized, or brushed off — even though treatment options exist.
At Focused Health & Wellness, sexual health is treated as a normal and important part of midlife care. You do not have to make it the main reason for your visit, but you are welcome to bring it up. We discuss these concerns privately, respectfully, and clinically — without making them the headline of your care unless you want them to be.
